We say obscene things, because the truth is obscene sometimes. We seek only to ever print or publish the truth. We understand that obscenity is not appropriate for all spaces, but the projection of an ‘appropriateness’ over all media becomes in the incentive force of late capitalism, a censorship of the actual reality of our lives from the internet and the media generally. People have to say “Fuck!”. Fuck censorship and the half-words of a half-true media. Fuck your bullshit, I don’t care if it looks ugly on the page sometimes, I want to see the truth in my publication.

The internet has become a mindless mass of hyper-stimulation, AI generated content and subtle control from on high by algorithm. That is not a media of any society, it is a fun-house of mirrors gone mad. Human media should be a reflection and discussion of our actual lives, not a centrally planned and carefully managed manufacturing of your consent. We here at Fuck Your Zine(FYZ) see the duty of every person to all other people to live in the same world as everyone else and not in some virtually created and carefully curated attention farm.

We at FYZ are a local publication, publishing local and independent writers. We are a grassroots movement for underground media and our mission is to empower the average person to know more about the world around them and be entertained. We seek to know the truth and to find the truth and share it with the world.

We at FYZ believe in a healthy marketplace, in productive lives and entrepreneurship. We think productivity and new ideas should be rewarded and so we share our profits directly with our workers in a syndicalist production structure. We also use Free and Open Source Software(FOSS) to produce a zine free from the stagnant and sludge inducing nature of proprietary software.

We at FYZ are an anti-colonial publication. We have rejected the domineering and stagnant ideas of mass productivity in favor of neo-cottage syndicalist production style that empowers our writers and artists to live a life of creative freedom. We want to create a world with less domination of our minds by higher powers, and more grassroots participation in intellectual discourse. We at FYZ want to decolonize the mind, and hope that with that the world can follow.
